And you happen to come across a dilemma where you can’t leave your pet in the hotel alone or bring them to the restaurant, what does one do?

You don’t want just anyone one handling your dog, especially if they have little to no experience.

Your pet is a part of the family, and yet you also need to remember that they are still animals.

It takes a certain person with this knowledge and experience who understands these factors at play. Someone who knows how to handle various temperaments and external factors of the environment.

Remember, your pet is in new territory, and it’s going to take someone who can bring in that calm, safe energy. And of course, bring in elements of fun!

You know your dog better than anyone. So make sure you set up your sitter for success by relaying pertinent tendencies and information. For their safety, the sitter, and others. You want this to be a memorable and fun time, not one of distress.

To set you up for success, plan ahead for your pet as you do for yourself. Contact a sitter in the area, and set up a virtual meet-and-greet or call ahead of time. Even if it’s 6 months in advance, this will prevent you from having to scramble at the last minute.
